Measuring Area
Calculate calibrated areas on PDF drawings using DraftPDF's polygon measurement tool.
The Area Measurement tool lets you trace a polygon and calculates its area in real-world units.
- Set the page scale first (see Setting a Drawing Scale).
- Select the Area Measurement tool.
- Click to place the first vertex of your polygon.
- Continue clicking to add vertices around the boundary.
- Double-click to close the polygon — the area is shown in the annotation label.
Tip:The measurement label shows both area and perimeter. You can reposition the label by dragging it after placement.
Warning:If the page scale changes later, use Set Scale and enable rescaling if you want existing measurement labels updated to the new calibration.
