Password Protecting a PDF

How to add a password to a PDF document using DraftPDF to restrict opening or editing.

DraftPDF lets you protect a PDF with a password, restricting who can open or modify the document.

  1. Open the PDF in DraftPDF.
  2. Go to File > Protect Document (or use the Protect toolbar button).
  3. Enter a password.
  4. Optionally set permissions to restrict printing or editing.
  5. Click Apply, then download the protected PDF.
Warning:If you forget the password, the document cannot be recovered. Store passwords securely.
Tip:Password protection in DraftPDF runs locally — your password and document are never sent to any server.
